Going to try something new on here. Going to buy call options. For the purpose of this blog we will pay the ask price for the options. The trade will cost $ 7 plus $ 1.25 per cobtract, which is the actual commission I pay when I have bought options with my on-line broker.
Buying 10 contracts of the May 40 calls on DNDN @ 5.90. Cost is $ 5,900.00 and commission of $ 19.50. Total of $ 5,919.50, leaving a cash balance of $ 2,816.50.
DNDN (Dendreon Corporation) is a biotech company that has a drug for the treatment of prostate cancer awaiting approval. They should get an answer on May 1. If the approval is denied these calls will tank. If it is approved a good profit should be had.
